Loveworld Sprintstar is a spiritually inspired initiative that was aimed at reaching and training young athletes in Lagos State through our Loveworld Sports Academy programs. Through this platform we were not only able to influence them to become the very best in the world, but also to become influential Athletes for the Gospel, spreading the message of our Lord Jesus through Athleticism.
In 2019 it was held in collaboration with the Lagos State Sports Commission and Lagos State Athletics Association, showcasing young talent aged 6-18 in a thrilling sprint event across 14 categories. From 75 m dashes for the youngest to 200 m dashes for older participants, athletes competed fiercely for top honours. Winners in each category received prizes ranging from cash awards to school bags, smartphones, bicycles, washing machines, and souvenirs, celebrating their achievements on the track.
The event, hosted at Teslim Balogun Stadium, drew 1200 enthusiastic spectators who enjoyed performances by Word, Dance, and Music ministers. Attendees also received spiritual nourishment through the distribution of our ministry materials like Rhapsody of Realities and Now that You Are Born Again, making it a day of both athletic prowess and spiritual enrichment.
